Training

Training can be offered on site or at the Los Angeles headquarters based upon the needs of the organization. Teams will attend a 2 day training at their local site. BAI will send 2 master trainers to lead the training session. Sites should have internet and LCD projectors available, although LCDs may be supplied by the training team upon request. A combination of didactic and practical learning techniques will be used. Learning Objectives Participants will: • Become knowledgeable about risk and protective factors in the Latino community as related to substance use and other behavioral problems • Learn about the underlying stress theory and research that is the basis for Familia Adelante • Gain knowledge and skills in the implementation of the Familia Adelante 12 week youth and parent curricula • Become aware of Familia Adelante fidelity monitoring and outcome evaluation procedures • Develop a plan for site specific Familia Adelante implementation, supervision and fidelity monitoring Implementation After the onsite training phase, all teams will receive ongoing coaching to help support uptake of the practice. Team members will: • Participate in up to 4 post-training webinars led by FA trainers
